    Hello,
So my laptop has FINALLY been struck by the same issue most G1S owners seem to have sooner or later ... the 3d card has died and now I have to send my laptop to RMA.

I have some questions about the procedure, because this is the first time it happens to me :

    1) What exactly do I have to ship to them? Only the laptop ? The laptop with the battery? Everything, in the original box?
    2) I've heard that they replace the mobo and the 3d card with an 9500M GS. Is it possible to get anything else? For example, I have a dead pixel on my LCD screen, will they replace it?

Ask Asus these questions when you file the RMA, no one will know better ;)

You can probably get away with keeping the battery and just shipping the laptop itself. I can't speak for all manufacturers but with my Sager that's how it was done.

Original box is not important I guess (At least not here in Europe). I would send as few items as possible (i.e. preferably only laptop) to avoid the possibility of the smaller items being misplaced and not returned to you.

    2. I would ask. It's possible they will do it, although they are not required by the warranty terms for a single dead pixel, I believe.

Mine fried a week ago but works partialy. I have green vertical stripes at the boot and then, only safe mode is booting. If I format, install new GPU drivers, it resets all GPU registers and it works fine until I use again the GPU.

As I am concerned, I am from FRance and I called Asus today. the only thing you have to send is the laptop and its battery. Tomorrow if everything is ok, I should call the local transporter and then, it takes 2 weeks.

I heard from many people that yes, we likely will get the G1Sn. Some guys were lucky and their laptop was lost in transportation and they got G50.

    Lucky s!!!

Well, I am pretty disapointed by Asus especialy, that they do not assume this problem mike Apple and HP did. They have to push Nvidia.
