i recently installed the drivers from laptopvideo2go, and to my dismay, i now get a black and white image when plugged into an external display device. The driver however, has dealt with mayn of the problems i was facing in games like bioshock. Anyway to deal with this?

163.44, 163.69 all give me the black and white problem. though when using my own laptop's monitor, they perform HEAPS better with games

Go into the display settings, set the color of the external monitor to 16 bbp, then back to 32. Fixed it for me
