Recently my dvd drive hasn't been able to read dvds. It reads/burns cds fine, but has had trouble reading dvds. Dvds do not appear in the drive when i check my computer. Any ideas?

I had the same issue with my G2S except it would only read/write DVD's and not CD's. Had to replace it.

Yeah, I mean use the warranty, or if its out, a replacement drive shouldn't cost all that much. (Or you could use an external drive, etc.)

What make and model is your dvd drive? Mata? I recently had a problem where my drive disappeared completely and it needed a simple registry tweak to bring it back

Got my RMA, sending it in at the end of this week. My warrenty's up in a month or so, so i might as well ship it in.

And my HDD is a Hitachi 160gb 5400rpm

Just the drive, or the whole system? Hopefully you can just send in the drive or something.

Sometimes that happens to my F3Sv-B1 and when it does happen, I just grab a can of Dust-Off and spray my DVD-drive. It usually helps me, though I don't know if that'll fix your problem.
