is it worthed to upgrade the CPU?
how much will this affect on gaming?

King of Interns Simply a laptop enthusiast
The G1S has a 8600M GT DDR3 card right. A faster processor will not boost frames much. It will help make the system feel snappier though. The biggest improvement for your laptop would be a SSD.

it's 9500m gs card in it mate
-
O god that's worse

The X9000 CPU would help in games, but only certain games; mainly RTS games where it's more CPU intensive than GPU. If you are to upgrade your system, I would follow King of Interns's suggestion and get a SSD. You'll benefit more overall than the X9000 CPU.

thanx for the suggestions guys!
is there anyway to swap the GPU for this version?
and how much is 320gb and 250gb in the market today?
i found one in ebay he sell 320gb SSD for about $500. -
The GPU in the G1 series is soldered to the motherboard and can't be replaced.
One of the best placed to purchase computer components is newegg.com. They are a reputable retailer and often have the cheapest prices online. -
gr8!
thanx for the tips -
If you want a cpu get it off of ebay from a user called shirleyfu. Very reputable and he has some final step eo x9100s for $300. step eo means it is an engineering sample but it is the last step meaning thebsame as an oem one. I have one myself.

yes buddy~ i had checked on ebay~
X9100 won't compatible with my chipset
but x9000 does.
anyway i still have my warranty going for another year.

I have tested the improvement from the T9300 to the X9000 on my Inspiron 1720 and I clearly do not find any form of FPS improvement or a drastic increase in speed. The extra 300MHz gained doesn't justify the performance upgrade you pay for.
I have noted the only visible difference is when you do 3Ds Max scene rendering or decoding mpegs, the results show that the 300Mhz gain from the X9000 exceeds from the T9300 by mere seconds.
For games, I see roughly 2 - 3 fps gained average from the following tested games like Crysis, COD4/5, FC2, UT3 and L4D.
This is what your extra 300MHz will do for you over your T9300. I'm now using the T9300 for my 1720 as I need to run some stability tests on my X9000 which bought from ebay, before placing it into the M1730.
More importantly the sole purpose of the X9000 is for its OC'ing abilities due to the unlocked multiplier. I doubt your G1Sn has that ability for CPUs with unlocked multipliers and thus you'll be sticking to just 2.8GHz stock.
Get an SSD. -
someformofhuman,
are you from SG?
approximately, what can i expect from an SSD?
i know that it can read faster than HDD.
but how does it affect gaming performance? -

Yep, I'm Singaporean
SSDs, as everyone has mentioned, things load faster, uses less power thus conserving battery life, boot up times are faster as well and your system just feels more... well, let's just say everything becomes snappier, but it's not a necessity to really buy one now. If you're on budget pick up a 320/500GB WD drive. Good enough as well. Your preference.
It does not improve gaming performance - only load times. Gaming performance, that's the majority part where your 9500M GS GPU takes over. -
thanx!
i am sg too..
thanx for the explanation buddy!
really appreciate it!
