    Hi,

    I own a G2S and a set of Logitech X-530 5.1 speakers.

What is the best way to achieve 5.1 surround sound on my G2S? Currently I can only plug the green plug into my G2S headphone/speaker jack and receive stereo sound. Inside the Realtek Audio Manager, the speaker selection is "greyed" out on Stereo only and I can't choose any other speaker setup. I assume that the software automatically detects whether I have the appropriate cable connecting my 5.1 speakers to the G2S and the options become available then?

Any advice on which cables/adaptors need to be purchased to make this work would be much appreciated!

With laptops i dont think 5.1 is really possible.. there are X-FI USB/Express but i dont think they support 5.1 or the higher models do but those are costly.

5.1 can be achieved via Toslink connection only, no analog capability due to lack of output ports.

    Thanks for the replies.

Can you advise on how I would connect the Toslink cable? I assume I would need to purchase an adaptor which would be plugged into the standard headphone/speaker jack?
