I just noticed that when I play games on battery mode the FPS drops to 14-15 while if plugged its 60 FPS. I already set the Battery Performance to High Performance and in Nvidia Control Panel I also set the Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum Performance but no luck. Is this normal? or is there some sort of tweaking to do?

Please help me out guys, I just recently bought this laptop and that is the only problem that's been bugging me this past few days, I'm thinking of returning it to the ASUS center because of this and I think there is something wrong.

So what is the purpose of it being portable if I can't play games on the go? I'm currently playing Just Cause 2 and its a bit old and like I said when in battery it lags with 15 FPS. So what if I play older games like Torchligh II but in battery...is it going to lag? Because my brother have an older laptop the HP Pavillion and he can play Torchlight II in ultra and in battery with 30 FPS...I asked because I haven't played Torchlight II installed yet.

I believe your model utilizes Optimus. Typically, any Optimus system will default to the integrated graphics while running on battery. Your brother's older laptop may have discrete graphics like yours, but no Optimus design.

There is also the limitation of power, the battery cannot provide as much power for the system has the charger can, so its a limit imposed so that you don't drain the battery in a shorter time span.

Rapid discharges not only damage the battery but could over heat the battery and pose a fire risk.

    Quote from notebookcheck review:

You basically have about 1/3 of the performance when running on battery.
