    So I'm feeling a little ambitious. After successfully upgrading my ASUS G50V with a T9600, I'm willing to try a bit more of a daunting task and am actually curious to see if this has been attempted by anyone else.

    I would like to know if anyone has successfully swapped the 9700M GT for a G50Vt's 9800M GS or a G51's GTX 260. The form factor is the same and I believe the MXM slot is the same size as well.

    However, if I'm not mistaken, ASUS places the card BIOS for the 9700M GT on the main BIOS itself in the "optional" area. So this renders one of two possibilities:
    1) The 9800M GS and/or GTX 260 has it's own BIOS on it's card and will overrule the VGA BIOS implemented by ASUS
    2) Chance a brick and flash a G50Vt or a G51 BIOS.

    Anyone successfully performed this upgrade or willing to give any advice?

    The only swap I'm aware of is someone switching the cards in a G51vx and a G50vt, i.e. GTX 260m <-> 9800m G[T]S.

    BIOS is probably going to be the biggest issue, and not one I think you can correct.
