I need to increase my available HDD space in my G50V and as per such, I need to figure out what it supports. I'm either up for purchasing a 500GB (7200RPM) at $90 or a 640GB (5400RPM) for $90. I just need to know if the G50V supports it so I don't buy it only to put it in my computer and the BIOS say no. Thanks in advance.

As long as the hard drive is a 2.5" SATA hard drive, you'll be fine.
