    Hello!

I recenty purchased a ASUS G50VT here in Finland. I realize the specs might differ from those in the states.

    Mines something in this style:
    Silver casing instead of orange.
    P8400 CPU
    15.4"
    Dvd Sup. Multi
    5100 AGN Wlan
    4gb RAM
    64 Ultimate vista
    9800m gs

    My question is:
How do you get the remote to work?
Theres this media remote controller i can put in the pcmcia slot and im guessing it works through the IR receiver.

I installed the OS again from the recovery DVD after raiding the two harddrives.

I have no IR installed at the moment and i was wondering if anyone here has experience on everything i need to install in order to get this thing to work.

    Appreciated!

I have a expresscard media remote which works through bluetooth. You should try going onto the asus website and downloading some relevant drivers, if you haven't already!
Oh and your version sounds a lit like the G50vt-X1, which was supposed to be a BestBuy exclusive, but obviously isn't!

One problem with a Bluetooth remote. If you do have the X1, they took the bluetooth out of them to save a few bucks :( You would have to buy one of those tiny bluetooth adapters.

The remote is definetly a IR remote, and my model has bluetooth :)

It's probably not the same as the bestbuy one
