ASUS G50VT-X5 Shipped with one yr Lojack missing??

Hello when i got my asus g50vt-x5 from best buy the hard drive was messed up and i had to reinstall. now i lost the free one year lojack that came with it. were do i find that software to reinstall and get the free one year.

 

Iv'e got to be honest with you Lojack for laptops is near useless for a few reasons.

1. Unless it's connected to the internet it doesn't work.
2. Anyone who would steal a laptop would be smart enough to wipe the hard drive anyways thus disabling the Lojack software.
3. It just another program running you don't need.


My advice? Don't bother and just buy a good laptop lock

And or try to add the Laptop onto your homeowners Insurance against theft.

P.S How was the Hard Drive messed up?

 

Heh thats like saying people who steal cars are smart enough to change the plates. People steal cars even having to go as far as programming keys for it and then drive around for a month on the plates it had on it. I would know my 08 Fusion was stolen and thats how they found it. Talked to some people and apparently is common as hell.

But i doubt ill even activate myne i noticed the icon though.

 

haha the car and notebook analogy isnt very good. It is illegal to switch out number plates like that, you need to register a new number plate but for hdd, all it is, is basically, MY COMPUTER->right click on c:/->format. Done, new hdd. No lojack can find it.

 

re install windows using the hard drive partition ull get the lowjack and everything else it came with the first time u opened the box. press f9 when you boot up. enter windows setup recover hd then follow instructions and in 20 min ur back to day one!!!

 

LoJack is installed below the hard drive level, A wipe won't remove it.

What he said. HD recovery recovers everything as if you just bought the laptop.

 

Its illegal to steal a car in the first place. Pro outfits sometimes have tags registered to the same make model and color range that way when there run they come back. Lo jack on cars is nice because before the plates even run the officers lojack indicator is going off.

i know for a fact if u use the recovery partition in the hard drive ull get ur lowjack back done it 3 times got lowjack back every time do it dont worry what anyone one else says! im 100% positive

 

sorry i donthave recovery now because when it failed i just installed a new os and deleted and fromated the hard drive. so does anyone have this software some were? some email me a link to it
