hey i posted my problems in the owners lounge earlier
    but need answers fast
so i bought yesterdays my asus g50 and yesterday evening i noticed first that each tine i execute a program , any program , msconfig for example. the screen turns off and turns back on real fast. so i double click , black screen , and the program is open. i wondered if it was vista ( first time on vista )
so then i noticed a dead pixel on the top middle of the screen
its white so quite annoying in movies
and a other problem is the wireless it wont get on , i turned off / turned back on the switch and since i never managed to open the wireless again...
    quite annoying for a laptop.
so i called asus this morning to explain and they told me they ll send fedex monday
great ill have to wait for a fed ex pick up all day monday...
but does fed ex brings a box ? to put the laptop in ? or i have to go find a proper box ?
anyone got the same problems than i have ?
how long will they take the laptop away ? i really need a laptop a the moment , tired of spending my money in a internet cafe.

    thank you for your answers

That sucks. But a white pixel could be a stuck pixel, probably fixable. Try googling jscreenfix, it splashes random pixels across your screen to try and unstick them. If that doesn't work, a little bit of pressure with a VERY SOFT object and some circular motion around it while it's on. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. But my G50V had a huge cluster of stuck pixels when I got it. The standard thing to use is a screen cleaning cloth with the butt end of a sharpie marker or other relatively blunt object. Don't push too hard or you'll bruise the screen.

In terms of your screen blanking stuff, I dunno.

Wireless - does your wireless monitor (little blue+white icon in task tray) show wireless LAN enabled? If you go to your network connections, does it say disabled? Try enabling it from both wireless monitor and network connections.

I don't know about the box issue, never had to send a laptop back to asus. I sent a mobo back to them once and it took 3 weeks...

I think the screen off/on is normal, but I'm not so sure. First time with Vista for me too. It happens when you run a program and the "User Account Control" notification pops up.

If you disable UAC (in the Control Panel->User Accounts, last option) that notification won't appear every time you run a program and the screen won't turn off/on.

    unbelievable
I yesterday sended a mail to the reseller i dealt with
to ask him to replace me the machine, as i bought it from them and its not fully working , I should not be the one to have to send it to asus and wait for repairs. As i m not responsible...
They responded ; you have to ask a number to are service departement with reason ect... and we will send it to asus . deciding to replace it will take about 4 weeks.
i responded ; i will make sure to make reviews on the internet about them for there poor service, they sell and dont give a damm after you paid.
    they responded this morning,

    Make sure,
We will forward immediately this email to our US and Canadian legal Department.
Be sure that every post will be analysed and you will be prosecuted for defamation under US laws.

    i mean what the hell
i m new in canada but like his customer never protected here ?
cant you review a website ?

Why don't you just return it for a refund?

It sounds like an aggravated situation has erupted.

Also, you can say whatever you want as long as you aren't trying to blatantly spread lies to defame a company. They cannot pursue you over your opinions. That is freaking ridiculous and you should certainly let others know of their threats.

Perhaps you can call your credit card company and have them mediate the situation. Depending on your company they might actually help.

I've had problems in the past and sort of wrote down my situation on paper, called up the company, and had some bullet points ready to talk to them about, stuff I demanded answers about.

It's good to be prepared and bulletproof in your logic when you go and try to dispute something. It's the only thing left in some bad situations. Good luck!

You are free to post the name of the company and a full review of what happend.
I am a lawyer and I guarantee you that.
As far as you will not write lies and you will be objective and you will write you own opinions on the situation, no one will be able to sue of. Guaranteed 100%.

Their asnwer to your email is a clear signal that they are tryng to intimidate you.- Nothing else -.

Post what happend, a clean review, names, and your own opinions.
