I just ordered one of these, factory refurbished, sealed and all that jazz.. I'm assuming I'm seeing so many of these on the refurb market because of the heat issues. Has anyone seen a difference between a refurb and a new one with any cooling mods from ASUS? Or do they just clean them up and repackage them?

I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that they are refurbed due to heat - AFAIK no G51 has died from heat. Anyways my first refurb was DOA but second one is perfect, temps are all within range gpu doesn't go over 90c in 3dmark06 so I'm happy. If you're an international buyer I strongly recommend you get the seller to open up that sealed package and test it first, it will save you $100. If the seller has already sent it, I hope this info is useful to other potential refurb buyers.

    Regards.

Not international, being shipped from California to Maryland.. I just saw many complaints for heat on them, and there seem to be a lot of them on the refurb market. I will have the 90 days from ASUS, but hopefully I won't have any issues.
