    Hello,

I have had the G51Vx for a few months now. Its a great machine, but I realise I keep having lots of typos on it.
But recently, something even worse happened. Some of my keys (backspace,p,1,4 and . on numpad) sometimes just randomly stops responding no matter how many times i hit it. I have tried reinstalling keyboard drivers, cleaning the keys, taking the keyboard out to have a look, but nothing worked.

Is it really a faulty keyboard? or could it be a software problem?

    Thanks!

You know what, my G51Vx does the same thing. Often it will miss double-characters, etc if I type too fast - at least half the time when I type my username at work, which starts with 2 B's, one of them gets missed. I love this laptop but have thought about contacting Asus to see if they'd do anything about it short of requiring me to send it in.

Sadly, I've noticed the same thing on my G51. I think there is simply some problem with the keyboard hardware or firmware. If I slow down my typing, it gets better, but this is definitely annoying. If the G51 were my primary typing machine, I'd have a real problem. As a web browser and game machine, I can live with it.

but have any of you experienced the intermittedly non-responding keys which I described in the first post?

No, the worst it's gotten for me is I often have to backspace and re-type the last word, etc. So far I haven't had any keys stop responding when pushed again.
