yap. Already available in pre-sale here in Portugal since late September.
It sure has a brutal processor, but the graphic card is the same, so I guess there will be no fantastic improvement in the gaming performace.

And to be honest I don´t think the price difference between normal versions and this Top one, is that comprehensive...

But, sure, on hell of a machine!

I am curious about the game performance as well. My G50v hasn't exactly struggled with games.

By the way, Hi. I'm new here :D

There will be some improvements during gaming, but not significant. A notebook with a 9800M GT + a C2D T5500 1.66GHz CPU will still perform better.

On the other hand, if you use this for rendering, encoding, or math simulations, it's quite helpful. Although, given the size of the thing, you're better off getting a desktop...

idk... that's pushing it a bit especially with rts games.

Well, if you're studying something related at uni (like architecture or enginering) this might come in handy...

Welcome! And I concur. The G50V does very decently in gaming.

the QX9300 is weaker in games than the x9100 and the t9800 in games.

dont argue with me, i have sources.

"Don't argue with me I have sources" :p

Regardless on whether you are correct or not, saying that you "have sources" without citing them is probably worse than saying nothing at all...

    Gaming isn´t everything...
I bet rendering will be definitly faster.
    Calculations must be way faster
    Video conversion, etc,etc
And in games... it won´t be the processor to make the difference...
In this case the graphic card will be the brake.

True, but the G71 is branded and adverrtised as a GAMING laptop and a premium one at that. It shouldn't be significantly outperformed in games by a Gateway that's $1000+ less. I was about to get the G71, but the GPU option killed it for me. Hopefully they'll have stronger GPU options in the future (like they're doing/did with the G70, which will come with 2x 9800M GTS in SLi).

True, but maybe only for now. Give it some time and not before long, all the games will be optimised for four cores. Quad-cores are definitely much more future proof..

Well, unless you're talking about a really hardcore rts game (like supreme commander 3) that is still years down the line, the video card is going to be the limiting factor at any decent resolution.
