    Hi all,

I just recently bought an asus K501j notebook. It is running on windows 7 64 bit. The touchpad is not working and I tried to enable/disable using fn+f9 but nothing happens. All the other function keys work but only the touchpad key is not working.

I then installed all drivers again but still no gain. In the end, I was so frustrated that I installed windows all over again but still the same issue, there is a small red cross on the elan smartpad icon in the notification area. I don't know what to do, plaese help!!

    Thanks in advance

Is your touchpad enabled in your BIOS?

I am very thankful for your kind reply. I will try to figure this out & see if its enabled in the BIOS when I go back home today.
