Hello. It seems as though I cannot buy a new part to replace this, per ASUS. There is just nothing there to click anymore. I haven't opened it up since I thought I could get a replacement part. They want me to send in the over 2 year old unit to get repaired, at an estimated price of $99. Has anyone else had this problem and resolved it themselves? I switched to mouse control to the right one but it's getting to be a pain.
Thanks

As far as I know, on that machine the mouse buttons are part of the motherboard. In that case you would need it to be repaired by someone with experience in small electronics, the actual switch part shouldn't be impossible to find at a place like digikey, mouser or jameco etc.

crap, I was afraid of that. Thanks for the info. I was hoping it was part of the touchpad or something like that. so if a get the little switch then it would still need to be soldered onto the MB right?

Yeah you can actually see the switches on P16 of the disassembly guide. I can't link to it directly, but you can find it here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/634669-asus-disassembly-guides-search.html#post8191030
