The other thread on screen issues for this laptop caught my attention. I'm having a different issue and 3/3 laptops I tested had the exact same issue.

I escalated the issue to tier 2 technical support and they said they would look into it but never got back to me so I figured I would post it here:

The problem randomly occurs. It happens once or twice a month. The top pixel rows start flashing as it appears in the video. Some sections are really bad and some are barely noticeable.

I bought this model laptop originally in september and had it exchanged when the problem occurred. The new one has been doing it as well and a friend of mine is having the same problem.

My brother bought the same laptop last week and I don't think he has been having issues. I haven't asked him yet.

My friend's laptop has also been having power cord issues. Apparently if its not in the perfect spot it doesn't charge the battery? I noticed my brother's new laptop has a completely different power adapter so I'm thinking there may have been an issue with the older style?

I have seen similar on K series, it was interference on the LVDS cable while plugged in to AC power. No problem on battery. Bad LVDS cable or a shielding problem on the cable.

I forgot about the buzzing/crackling noise my power adapter makes as well. It sounds like electric arcs or shorts inside the adapter. It happens randomly and is fairly loud (very noticeable in a quiet room).

I haven't talked to my friend yet to see if his was every doing that.

Yes the AC adapter normally makes that noise, that is nothing to worry about.
