Here (Italy), last week I've bought an ASUS V6Va with IPS LCD and Color Shine feature.

Well, I'm very satisfied of this laptop and IPS LCD technology itself justifies expense.

To tell the truth, I'm a little dissatisfied with glossy Color Shine feature: I think in outdoor use or in very lighted working enviroments this new anti-reflective treatment may constitute a problem.

Only for this purpose, I would like to apply a simple LCD glare reduction filter like

    3M AF15.0 Notebook Protection Filter,

    or Kensington Protective Filter

both specifically developed for LCD notebook screens.

    What do you think about?

    Anyone has ever tried one?

using glossy notebooks in the sun is easier to see than a matte mattes get washed out completely.

Yeap, Glossy's are way better in the sun(except for the glare), I've used both Z70va and V6va in the sun, the V6va was a tad more easier to see, but nonetheless, neither were meant to be used outside much :p

Finally those are either testing what I've done...... or just repeating me :)

The highest brightness you can get is what you want....... you're trying to balance the light on both sides of the screen.... it can't do that totally..... so it starts to wash out..... but under most outdoor condition (that are out of the direct direct sun...... you can still see what you're doing on the screen......... it wouldn't be a good idea to be like that all day and try to be productive, but it works - I've used them like that all summer..
