    Hello...First time newb here.

I have an ASUS M2N Notebook which needs slight repair(accidentally dropped, everything works fine except LCD screen becomes extremely dark, LCD is still functioning and I can still make out some details if and only if the lighting is correct.. :( :( :( )

Anyway, is there any repair store that could take ASUS notebook??

    Thanks in Advance

repairing it would probably cost you a lot..
Heck, I could repair it for you, but you'd have to pay for the new parts (brand new LCD I assume... ~300+ dollars)

    Thanks for the reply

Yeah I know....it's expensive as hell

but from my initial assessment it's probably some internal loose parts connecting to the LCD screen which needs to be put back in the right place.

    So..is there any repair store??

I was thinking NCIX too... they are listed as a dealer on Asus's website.
You may want to try Anitec as well.

Other than that... I don't know of any places that'll repair Asus notebooks. A new LCD for the M2N would cost $315 USD alone...

    Thanks for the replies everyone

I actually found the possible cause relating to this issue. It seems like my inverter, the DC-to-AC circuit that drives the fluorescent-tube backlight is broken or loose. There is also a less likely, but possible cause: the fluorescent-tube backlight iself is broken or disconnected.

My money is on the bad inverter

I actually bought my laptop outside Canada (I bought it in Taiwan to be exact). I just wondering if NCIX repairs the laptops that is not bought from there?

    thanks in advance

Last time I contacted NCIX for laptop repair that was bought at their shop, I was told that they do not do repairs for laptop. So I ended up shipping my laptop to Asus in Toronto for repair. Good thing the laptop was still under warranty and probably would have been better this way. I think most if not all Asus laptops have a 1-2 year(s) Global Warranty. Try contacting Asus and see what they can do for you. Don't know what they'd say since you did drop the laptop accidentally.
