ADDED MORE: this works perfectly. Make sure you know EXACTLY which one to install. I used the Floppy creation version though the start install and then find files thing probably works.. I created a floppy then copied the files to a USB key... drive would be fine I guess too. Just read the link carefully I'd suggest.

Hi... had to turn off the bios for SATA chip and go regular IDE... installed XP sp2 all fine. I think it will go much faster with the intel sata drivers.
I went to the intel site and got the 32bit XP versions of the storage matrix installer and the 32 bit floopy create thing.
ok so some of you know what I'm doing wrong..
I don't want to reinstall xp right now..
what's the order of events and how can I mess this up... hehehe
I couldn't install the iata70_enu.exe ...
I transfered the floppy install files after creating a flopppy and then copying them to a USB key... So right now i have the bios in legacy mode so is that why the drivers won't install? device not known about???
So, if I turn it on in the bios I'll get a blue screen..right? then what!
So, there's a trick to it.... or maybe I have bigger problems?
help?
big thank you everyone
gotta figure this out.. too slow
oh, do I need any other files other than the storage matrix?
is what's on the storage matrix installer pretty much like what's on the floppy creator version???
