Hello all, a new member here, I was wondering if anyone, buying from an online dealership such as GenTech or XoticPC, ect.. is seeing delays in delivery, I guess ASUS did not expect such a high demand for these notebooks. And as for those of you that have recieved your M50Sv's ... how do you like them? I researched this purchase to death before deciding on the M50Sv, I have had it with Dell in the past 2 years or so, even with their "gold" (now called "pro" ) tech support, to many problems left unresolved, and it seems that Dell's QC overall has gone down, as well as their overall quality. I speced out 3 other brands of notebooks in the same configuration as the M50Sv A1 and all came out to be $200-$600.

I love mine. Got it the first day they became available through XoticPC. Ken at GenTech says they should be available this week.

The only significant gripe I had was regarding the volume of the speakers--they were just too quiet. But, I figured out how to fix that (through the Realtek HD Audio Manager).

I think you'll really like it....when you get it.

Most stores who carry Asus notebooks should have them in stock. There shouldn't be any backlog or shortage on M50sv by now. Thanks!

Well I bought mine and it was 'supposed' to be in stock but wasn't. So I had to wait 2.5 weeks for it to come in and it is still not here. It is about 10 miles away from my house atm.

I was mad mainly because the business sold a product that they didn't have in stock.

It's a known fact that the majority of retailers (although not those who participate here, from what I've been able to tell over the past couple years) who sell Asus notebooks just drop-ship their product directly from regional distributors, and do not coordinate their sales pages with inventory at the disti's warehouse. When they post a sale, they probably dash off a PO, fax or email to the disti asking to please forward product to the purchaser - but if the disti doesn't have product on hand, well, you get the picture.....

I purchased my M51SN-B1 (which is the same as A1 except has a 1.8 Ghz processor) from Gentechpc sunday and the customer service was GREAT. They called me to confirm my order on monday and told me it will ship tuesday. During checkout they allow you to add comments incase you have any special requests. I requested some freebe stuff, they said they will give me one of each thing they have laying around. They ended up giving me a free tshirt, headset and a asus backback! thats like $100 worth of free stuff. I havent gotten the items yet cause i live in new york and they're all the way in CA. I should have it by monday according to tracking.

Dont count on them having anymore backpacks though, i believe i got the last one. =)
