I know there's official threads about this laptop but I'm having numerous issues so I thought it would be better to make my own post.

First off, I recently updated to BIOS 207, to fix issues with the keyboard lag as well as the gaming issue I'm about to describe. However, the only thing it seemed to do was disable the light sensor feature built-into the laptop. Now the light sensor doesn't work, and it's always setting the screen to dark. Anyone else have this problem? I want to return to 205, but I don't have any links to the BIOS firmware, anyone have it?

Secondly, the keyboard lag is a big issue, so I've just uninstalled the synaptics program altogether, and it's fixed. Of course, now all my touchpad features aren't working. I hope updated software will fix it.

Thirdly, and most importantly.. I've noticed some lag in my video games, specifically on Steam using the ID Mega Pack (comes with Doom, Quake series, etc), everytime I shoot the video lags. This shouldn't happen on games 10+ years old. What's going on? Is it Vista incompatibility or what?

I appreciate any help you guys can give me.

I had to disable the touchpad in my BIOS setup to get the lag to stop, and the random hanging issue to stop. I didn't try uninstalling the driver package, so I don't know whether it will have the same effect for you. I'm also on a G50V. Good luck.

I am also having the Light Sensor problem. Does anyone have the 205 BIOS? Or any idea where to get it. I searched ASUS but couldnt find it. Would it be on the recovery disc?

Uninstalling it has the same effect, but at least you get to use the touchpad still.

I have an M50VM-B2 also, and mine came with the 205 BIOS. I've done some searching, but I haven't turned up any way to back up the current BIOS. If someone can find a way that I can back it up I'd be willing to upload it for anyone that needs to re-flash back to 205. I'm also willing to update to 207 (once we have a copy of 205 that we can flash back) to try to see if I can help find a way to make the system well correctly with 207.
