Note: Currently there could be newer versions available for some of the drivers given here. Now most of them can be downloaded from ASUS Support directly.
I thought I share here a collection of driver that I have tested and found working on ASUS M50VM under Windows 7 64bit Ultimate.![]()
The collection also contains 32bit drivers, but I have not test those myself.
All the drivers are for Windows 7 except for Dual Mode Touchpad so far there is no Win7 driver available for it.
Now the package contains only drivers.
No other ASUS software except for Splendid and Power4Gear are included.

Sorry the maximum upload size is 200MB I could not Upload the complete set in a single file.![]()
The nVidia Forceware driver is not included and it can be directly downloaded from Nvidia website.
The ATK Drivers are also included in the complete package above, but I thought I also upload then separately.

It is usually recommended that you follow the following order when installing the ASUS ATK drivers:
1- INF UPDATE Intel chipset driver
2- ATK ACPI Driver Utility
3- ATK Generic Function Service
4- Keyboard Device Filter Utility
5- ATK Hotkey Utility
6- ATK OSD2
7- ATK Media Utility
Note: ATK driver are the same for all of the ASUS notebooks.
Finger Print Sensor Guide
To manage and register new fingers go to:
Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Biometric Devices -> Manage your Fingerprint data
If you find info here useful please leave a feedback. -
Awesome, I always had a problem with ATK and the brightness (since we couldn't disable the ambient light sensor)... now I have my brightness control back!!! Thanks a lot. +rep
-
@taigech Good to know that you have found these drivers useful.
I have now updated the links with a new set of drivers for Windows 7.
These are tested and found to work under Windows 7 64bit Ultimate.
For those user out there who like me also got their copies of Windows 7 through Technet Plus at start of August these links could be very useful. -
I have added a small guide on using Finger Print sensor to post #2.
-
Is there a driver for this laptop that doesn't work in any way? Making sure before I make switch to W7 Pro.
-
For me all seems to be working fine.
Most of the drivers are now available for Win7 but few of them should be used from Vista especially WLAN, Dual Touchpad, TPM, and modem.
Vista drivers for Chicony Webcam did not install under Win7 but the camera is working fine with default drivers from Win7 64bit.
Actually now you can also download some of the drivers from ASUS directly. Go http://support.asus.com/download and look for G72GX model.
-
For webcam I find driver in google. Version of the driver is: 061.005.033.080 and its working fine on w7 x64.
You may download this driver from my FTP server:
ftp://jambi.mine.nu
Salute -
Actually now I have Win7 64bit driver for the Chicony webcam.
It is added to the first post. -
And Your driver is newest than mine.. Alredy downloaded and installed
Thanks
Once again.. Great job -
thanks Turbogear, touchpad driver works.. but in dual-mode, brightness buttons doesnt do anything
any solutions? -
Touchpad driver I provided is the same as the Vista one.
Unfortunately, there is no newer driver available from ASUS so far.
For TPM also there is so far no updated driver for Win7.
If I get one I will post it here.
Here is another forum where I already discussed this. You will find there links for newer modem and Bluetooth driver:

Does this work for the Asus M50Sseries?
-
I think yours is based on different chipset and uses different network card, WiFi card, and graphic card.
I am not sure about the reset of the components. It could be the two series shares some components and for those drivers would be the same.
At least the ATK drivers are the same for ASUS notebooks.
In order to help you find out if the drivers are same I have posted a list of the M50vm model hardware at the end.
My notebook has following hardware:
Chipset: Intel PM45
CPU: Intel T9400

Glad I found this, now my "blue keys" work in win 7

Has anyone managed to find a 32-bit driver for the webcam that actually works? This is frustrating, as I specifically got the 32-bit version in order to be able to do an in-place upgrade from the factory-installed OS. Now, it turns out that 64-bit was the way to go. <sigh> I guess maybe I should have installed the RCs and figured this out before ordering.
-
Hello,
The best way to get a driver for 32bit operating system is to go to the following forum and ask for it.
It is a German forum run by ASUS support team in Germany, but they speak also good English.
They are very helpful as I mention in the first post all the 64bit drivers were also provided by them.
Here is the link: http://www.asustreiber.de/
Two days ago they have released lot of driver CD for many ASUS notebooks, unfortunately not for M50Vm/M50Vn so far. They told me that ASUS has not made it ready so far. They told me that some of the older models especially the one on Win7 upgrade program will also get updated driver CDs, but later on.
ASUS will first serve the new models which released on 22 October and then they will work on the older models.
-
For people with M50Vm, I have updated the list of drivers to the newest ones I have found until now.
ASUS still did not release any WIn7 driver sets for M50vm on their support website.
I wonder if they will release any as this model is not produced anymore. -
Im using G50-vt Asus but i think the solution might be similar...
So my problems is that Win7 64bit doesnt lunch ATK Hotkey when you start the computer. I moved a shortcut f Hcontrol to the Startup folder so that helped for right now
The only Thing that really makes me mad is that all the hotkeys except the TOUCHPAD (disable/enable) work. I really want it to start workin again cuz i used to use it all the time...
any Ideas peoples? -
Did you install the latest ATK drivers?
I have a link provided for these in the first page.
Usually for the hotkeys to work correctly you need to intall the following components and in the following order:
1- ATK ACPI Driver
2- ATK Hotkey Utility
3- ATK OSD2
Otherwise the hotkeys do not work.
-
I did update these drivers, it didnt help.
I found the solution though...
I downloaded New Synaptics drivers for win7 and now it works.
THanks for replying! -
Good to hear that you solved the problem, but strange that the Hotkeys on your notebook depend on touchpad drivers.
-
Do you have a mirror link for the ATK drivers says no more free download spots heh.
I tried dling from asus support the M50VM vista64 bit drivers for win7 64bit and they didnt seem to work. Am I looking in the wrong place? -
Address in my signature -
Here is another link for ATK drivers:
http://www.asustreiber.de/downloads/1578-asus-atk-komponenten
This package contains ATK drivers for all different versions of windows.
-
i installed windows7(64bit)professionel on my m50vm but in the beginning i had trouble with the drivers.
not all of my hardware components is detected in the device manager...I don't know why...I tried to install the INF update from the driver pack but it doesn't work...
Does anybody has an idea?
Thanks a lot guys...It's really a pitty that asus doesn't support (windows7) my pc model.
Many greetings Maze -
i seem to be having the same problem as maddes bens... but even though those didnt install, the ATK worked beautifully... i mean the TPM and the touchpad works!.
However, the bluetooth device driver failed to install so i still have some errors for some devices when I open up device manager.
kudos to the OP for doing this . thanks !. -
the synaptics driver didnt work for my install on m50vm-b1.
I used http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers instead and it worked. -
For me this driver works on Win 7 x64. "Dual Mode" work fine... Only brightness doesn't work. -
Yes,
I noticed from other forums also that intel chipset driver INF v9.1.1.1019 does not install on all machines. It is very strange.
That is why I provided a link for INF v9.1.1.1015 as this usually works on all machines except for Calpella or i7 platform.
-
Did you install ASUS Wireless Console 3 before you tried to install the bluetooth driver?
Usually, asus recommends that you install the Wireless console before installing the bluetooth driver.
Here is the link for it:
http://www.asustreiber.de/downloads/windows-7/tools/1552-wireless-console-3

This thread appears to have slowed down, but I still have seen no resolution to the 32-bit driver situation for the webcam on these machines. It is my impression that everything works under 64-bit. Is this correct? I have the media, but I don't want to go through the hassle if I will end up in the same or worse situation in the end. Thanks in advance.
-
Hello,
Yes so far I don't know of any 32bit webcam drivers, but under 64bit everything is working fine for me.
Only thing that I did not achieve so far is to make Dual Mode of touchpad to work.
ASUS did not release any Dual Mode drivers for our Synaptic Touchpad.
But with latest divers the Touchpad itself works fine but I cannot switch on the multimedia functions. Old Vista drivers works partially.

Hi all,
Everything works perfectly except the webcam. I am on Windows 7 x64, and have tried a ton of drivers. A few of them give me "Device status: This device is working properly." However, under the general tab on the webcam properties, they all have "Unavailable" listed for Manufacturer, Model number, and Description.
And the biggest issue: the webcam won't work. The light doesn't turn on, and no programs can detect it. Skype just gives a black screen.
Is the issue the driver? Or maybe the hardware...? -
Go to Asus support site and search on the M50Vn or M50Vc. Both of these units are similar to the M50Vm. Download & install the lifeframe3 utility for win7 and the webcam should work fine, even on Skype.
Good Luck -
i have the same laptop as you guys
i had for 6 months windows7 on it but i gave up because of the problems regarding the drivers
the wireless didn't conect to my wl500w in n speed
the atk didn't work
the monitor had sensor problems
the card reader didn't work
have you succeded in searching all the drivers
because asus support is in this case a big pyle of S*H*I*T
pls reply -

Hi guys, great posts.
I'm planning to update my Hard Drive in this model to a 500Gb, you know of any tutorial/schematics on how to replace it?
I'll try the ultimate 64 bit version afterwards.
Thanks -
Can you Reupload the Drivers too please?
-
I don't have this notebook anymore. I gave it to my father.
So I have not udpated the thread in a while.
If anybody has links to newer drivers, I would be happy to post them on the first page. -
Thanks for the post Turbogear!
I managed to get everything working less the bluetooth interface.
I installed wireless console 3 prior as well but when I run the installer it simply doesn't detect the device.
Also nothing appears in device manager regarding the interface and everything is installed perfectly. I did use a different chipset driver from the Intel website version 9.1.1.1025 from intel download infinst911autol.exe dated 12/22/09.
I did notice during install it refereed to an older version in the installer readme. -
Usually the BT module is not detected if you have the switch on the OFF position. -
yeah it's turned on I believe...
You mean the physical switch at the front left of the notebook near the IR receiver?
Yeah it's on so I can turn wifi on and off.
I also have the ATK stuff installed and when I hotkey the wireless IE all off, all on, Wifi on BT off, Wifi off BT on. The BT is grayed out. -
Do you think the ATK hotkey or some other element of it is turning off the bluetooth device?
-
I tried to make this post at the Asus forum but it seems they have removed the notebook part of the forum.
I have a M50VM-B2 notebook that I recently replaced the HD and installed Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.
I managed to install almost all the drivers with the exception of the Bluetooth driver/software. Everything is working perfectly and the keyboard lag that once plagued the unit is totally gone and I have the entire ATK stuff installed and working. Again less Bluetooth.
When I try to install the driver it simply doesn't detect the device. Also it doesn't appear in Device Manager and there are no unknown etc stuff in there as everything is installed perfectly.
I can't help but wonder if the ATK hotkey or something to that affect is turning off the adapter when the machine boots.
Considering everything is working perfectly I don't wish to reinstall windows or anything to that affect so if I get the canned asus "use recovery partition" resinstall BS I'll be pissed.
This machine has ran horrible from day one and the boxed Vista install was terrible. It's like a new machine at this point in it's current state BUT I have to get bluetooth working as I use it with my touch pro 2 and GPS receiver. It's clearly a software issue as I alluded to above. Considering this issue has been systemic I'd assume someone can help... -
Ok I totally figured it out.
I was correct in assuming the ATK stuff disabled it.
What I had to do was simply hit FN+F2 then the graphic appears for a short period. You have to move the mouse to the bluetooth icon and click it to turn it on.
So stupid the ATK stuff turns it off as a default.
After it's turned on the boxed windows drivers install.
Then you run the asus package. -
I don't know why ASUS did it like this. The way it was done in the older version was better. -
I just upgraded my M50VM laptop to Windows 7 Ultimate. I am working through all of the driver kinks, and have to date just about everything I need to be back whole again (as I had been before on Vista).
I am missing a suitable WEBCAM program/software to replace LIFEFRAME as it is just not working with Windows 7.
BTW I am operating on a 32bit OS.
Any help?
Thank you all tons!!!!

The Intel INF doesn't work for me. When I try to run the setup file it tells me
"Setup.exe - Bad Image"
"\Asus_M50VM_Win7_drivers\Intel INF v9.1.1.1019auto\Lang\CHIP\DAN\ChipsetDAN.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."
Also says the same but for \RUS\ChipsetRUS.dll
I have an M50VM-B1 and I upgraded to Win7 Pro -
I am sorry I have not updated this thread in a while.
I don't own this notebook anymore.
I made this thread when the Windows 7 first came out.
Now most of the driver could be downloaded directly from ASUS website.
Try to download the INF driver from the ASUS website here:
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-
For chipset drivers newer than v9.1.1.1019, you could have a look at this link:
