I've got an ASUS M50sa laptop that has been working fine until this morning, where it now refuses to power on. The adapter has power going to it, but no lights on the computer itself. I tried removing all power and holding the power button, letting it sit without power, basically anything I can think of as my screwdrivers to open it are not accessible at the moment.

The only things in recent memory I can think that I did was remove the RAM and hard drive for the sake of both cleaning and backing up some files, but that was about a month ago and I haven't had another problem since.

This is just baffling me as it seems so out of the blue (especially where I was on it just last night with no issues), and I figured I would see if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks in advance for any help!

Try it with an adapter from someone else which is guaranteed to work.

If that still doesn't work try resetting the bios (you may need to disassemble the laptop).

If still hopeless, something might have died on the mobo. Send it to a repair facility...
