Hello everybody, I bought for my wife some 2.5 years ago an Asus M51Ta notebook, everything fine, even was able to get Win7 with both graphic cards working to run on it, but suddenly few days ago, after win update restart, it went dark. When I turn it on, nothing, you see the power led on, hear the HDD spin up, the DVD drive to initiate, but everything else is dead, display dark, not even a blink, keyboard seems to be dead aswell. I tried to put the recovery DVD or the Drivers CD in there, it seemed to be searching for something, because you could hear the DVD drive to seek alot for a minute or so, but nothing happened. So I hope that the BIOS is somehow corrupt, but the boot block is still working and searching for some files on the DVD drive. I read on the internet that AMIBIOS automatically looks for AMIBIOS.ROM file and flashes the BIOS from that, but it didnt work for me, I tried to put the same bios 207 as different names on the CDRW I put there, but nothing seems to work, I guess I didnt had the correct name of the file. Can anyone help me with this? Anybody know the correct name for the bios file so the boot block loads and flashes it correctly?
