    Hello

I installed Windows 8.1 yesterday on my ASUS M51VA and everything was going well, the problem is that as soon as I install the drives of Hotkeys (ATK), the screen brightness fades a bit, making it a bit dark.
If I try to increase the brightness controls in Windows itself, nothing happens. I can really only increase and decrease the brightness with the FN keys.
I have raced everything and anything and I can not fix this, can anyone help me?
Have I disabled the automatic brightness that comes with Windows 8.1 and all.
If I install Windows 8, this will also happen?
From what I know is a common problem.
The laptop is an Asus M51VA and the Graphics Card is an ATI RADEON HD 3650.
    Thank you.

Older laptops do not have correct EC register for Win8 to access for the brightness control, however many users had managed to get it to work through software setting/registry modification to achieve this purpose.
Here's first thing for you to try, see below link.

    Hello

At the end of the day, managed to get the FN keys to work without lowering the brightness level of the screen, I used the following drive: ATKPackage_Win8_64_VER100030 (found on newer models of ASUS).
So far everything is working correctly, both the brightness control with FN Keys and the brightness control of Windows itself.
The only thing that does not work are the animations from Asus when it had selected a FN key, however the functions work correctly, so it is acceptable.
I'll see if I can improve it.
