I have an ASUS M6V notebook computer purchased under 3 years ago. Yesterday I was using my notebook as usual and all of a sudden the wireless stopped working. An error message came up stating there was no wireless network in range.
I tried repair connection, I also checked the router and none of the other computers have any wireless connection problems. I tried re-installing the wireless netork drivers however so far I have since been unable to search for wireless networks or even use the wireless function. I'm now stuck with ethernet.
Is it likely to be a hardware fault? I'm thinking maybe the ariel overheated inside the notebook and maybe I can just buy a new intel wireless card. I would like to avoid reformatting the OS. Anyone with any ideas, please help, sorry for the long post.

Have you tried new drivers from Asus or updating your OS?

Yes, it can be wireless card death - 3 years old is old for notebook.
Yes, you can replace wireless by yourself - it is not very difficult.
If you can get the same card, you do not have to have any hassle with drivers installation -
Thanks for the replies. I suspect the card has died, since I've reinstalled the drivers with no success. However I may try doing a fresh install of XP just to be sure. Any idea where the card would be located or where to find out (I checked the manual, there's no info)? I'm thinking of just buying a new Wireless N minipci card which I assume should be compatible.
