I bought an Asus A8JP recently (4-5 months ago) and decided now that i've saved up some extra cash i should upgrade to 2 gb ram and a 7200rpm HDD.
i dont know anything about ram or the pins like
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145157
which is a 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300).
btw is this a good ram to get?
what does the 200-pin mean? ddr2? sodimm? ddr2 667? lol can someone clarify this for me.
and about HD's. I just hear that ishould get a 7200rpm SATA. but what does the 8mb cache mean?
wats the diff. between SATA and Serial ATA150. which is better? whats the best or good brand for a Hard drive??
help me out plesae!

You can buy this memory kit, it'll work with your computer perfectly.
DDR2 is the most current stable memory technology available*, which stands for "Double Data Rate 2". There are several DDR2 specifications like PC2-5300, which defines the speed of the memory module. For example, this one has 667 MHz bus speed. A typical SODIMM module has 200 connection points (pins).
SATA = Serial ATA. Again it's the most recent hard drive technology. 150 is the bus speed in MB/s.
rpm is something important that improves disk performance. 7200 rpm means a higher performance, but a higher disk temperature. For me, 5400 rpm is just fine for a notebook, as lower temperature rates have more importance than performance.
Disk cache is something reduces the physical access to the disk, which improves performance and power consumption. A higher cache is always good, but I don't think more than 8 MB is needed for today.
Seagate is the developer of SATA and many other disk technologies, however this doesn't make them the best. There are several other alternatives like Western Digital, Hitachi and Samsung.
*DDR3 is coming soon. -
thanks!! great help
