Ive just bought a new Asus N53sm and I am very pleased (so far).
It was bought from the Comet closing down sale (uk) it was reduced from £505 - £450, not much of a discount, and I probably could of got more off since it was an ex-display model.
Specs:
Windows 8 Pro - media center edition (I upgraded from win 7 (premier?)
Intel I5-2450m
8gb RAM (I upgraded from the installed 4gb)
nVidia 630m gt 2gb
500Gb Seagate 7200rpm
Bang & Olufsen speakers
There are a lot of different specs of this same model flying around, and I couldn't find the one to match mine. most of the specs I see online say this machine is upgrade-able to 16gb RAM, When I lifted the lid I seen that there was only 2 RAM slots (there should be 4?) the website says Memory-DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM, 4 x SO-DIMM socket for expansion up to 16 GB SDRAM ASUS - Notebooks- ASUS N53SM
Is this laptop capable of 16gb even though it only has 2 slots?
Have I made a good choice in buying this laptop?
I do use Photoshop, after effects and video conversion software (convertx to dvd). I also play games on it, which it does pretty well, but it dosnt use all the RAM.Which leads me onto my next question.
How can I get Programs/Games to use more RAM?
