Hey
Just recently purchased the ASUS N550JV in the UK.
Its a nice laptop but few build quality issues and was wondering if I`m just been picky or should get a replacement?

Can you describe what you're trying to show in each picture?

The gap around trackpad is common. Actualy very common on computers with buttons integrated in the trackpad (often called clickpads), with dedicated buttons this is rather uncommon/non issue.
And yes there will get dust/dirt down there over time, I can tell from own experience.
Gap around DVD drive is common, the DVD drive actually sits pretty loose in this computer for some reason.
The F4 key is not so common, but there has been several with enter key issues (stuck, not working properly etc). -
For me, some edges of the touchpad are flush with the casing and other edges are indented in, and the biggest gap is the edge closest to the user. As for the DVD drive, mine was actually jutting out of the side by at least a mm, but when i opened the laptop from below, I was able to unscrew the DVD drive, push it in further, and screw it tight. There is still a gap on the top edge, but at least now it's flush. As for the keys, I didn't have any issues with those.

Does yours click when you press the far lower-right corner. Mine doesn't budge in the lower-right corner, no matter how hard I press, but it clicks when I move toward the center, although I have to press harder than most other laptops I've tried. I just wondered if mine is defective, or if it's not supposed to click in the far lower-right corner. Thanks! -
Definitely not defective! Haha, I understand the picky-ness though.

Looks normal to me but I know what you are talking about the gap.
The keys can flex around the holes but they are normal. -
I'm having some issues with the build quality of this laptop as well, and I'm wondering if someone else can verify whether this is abnormal or not.
The first thing I noticed was that the trackpad does not sit flush with the aluminum frame. The "right-click" side sits above the plane where your palms rest, making a little bump, and the "left-click" side is recessed.
Second, when I turned the laptop over after putting it away for the night, just to give it an inspection, I found some chips and burrs in the aluminum on the side with the input/outputs.
Finally, I looked at the torx screws on the bottom and noticed that one is stripped, and two are partially so.
Really, the only thing that bothers me is the last one, because I'm not sure why it would come from the factory like this. To me, this implies that it was a pre-owned, or refurbished model. This is not what I paid $1000 for.
Anyone have any input as to whether their machines came the same way? -
you'll make a dent later through the journey of the n550jv.. just wait
. Anyway, great laptop though, nice choice.

Not sure what you mean? Make a dent?
For those wondering, I've contacted customer support because my headphone jack is not working properly anymore. It's been shorting out when listening to music, and makes a god-awful metallic scrapping sound when I plug my headphones in. Overall, I could overlook the other things, they're not that big of a deal, but I'm getting a feeling that its a sign of more to come... -
Any updates on this?

RMA'd it through NewEgg. The headphone jack completely stopped working. The replacement is on the way.
