    Is the optical connected via SATA III interface or SATA II? I've researched the other editions and there is conflicting information. Some state that all ports are SATA III on the Lynx Point Chipsets while some state that the HDD is SATA III while the ODD is SATA II. Anyone know for sure?

    As you can guess, I'd like to install an SSD in the ODD.

    You still can install a SSD, even though its performance will be capped but it's still going to be faster than HDD nevertheless. :)

    Yes, and it will yield slightly better battery life as well.
