    Hello,

I am trying to determine the difference between these 2 version of the Asus N56VZ.

I have found them on 2 different websites.

    N56VZ-XS71
    http://www.excaliberpc.com/618216/asus-n56vz-xs71-15.6-notebook.html#TabSpecification

    N56VZ-RB71:
    http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0394503

The only thing I noticed is
15.6" Full HD (1920x1080) LED Display vs Full HD LCD

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Don't buy the 783p LCD, choose the 1920x1080 screen

Yes, at microcenter. I also asked one of the employees. It appears that it is a typo on the website.

Edit: also, if you check the Asus website, the N56 ONLY comes with an LED screen.

I found a couple of stores whose ads indicate the XS71 comes with Windows 7 Pro and a couple of other stores whose ads indicate the RB71 comes with Windows 7 Home Premium.

Another variant is the N56VZ-DS71 sold by B&H Photo and GenTech PC. The only difference I have found between the DS71 and the RB71 is the DS71 has a two-year "international" warranty and the RB71 sold by MicroCenter has a one-year warranty.

I found a couple of stores that indicate the XS71 also has a one-year warranty.

GenTech PC offers a Windows Pro upgrade for the DS71 for $134 as of July 26, 2012. They offer a lot of other upgrades as well. But the best price I've found for the DS71 is at bhphotovideo.com. (I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but I have bought several cameras and lenses from them.)

I received my DS71 from Adorama (another good retail B&M / online company). Dang, I could have saved $0.99 through B&H!!!! ;-)

Great computer for my two cents.
