Hey guys so I got my laptop a little over 6 months ago and I have been experiencing some problems about a month ago. The first problem is that I get logged into a temporary profile a lot. Another problem is that when I start to play games, my laptop heats up ridiculously fast. I don't know if this is normal or not. And lastly, while I am play games, my screen gets really messed up after I've been playing for a while. Sometimes it takes an hour before it starts to get messed up, sometimes 5 minutes. By messed up I mean "shard" like shapes and pixels start flickering around and stuff like that. Does anyone know what's wrong with it? Also, I am in college now so I wont be able to send it back or anything anytime soon. ANY help is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I know the graphics in the N series aren't powerhouse cards, and do get quite hot when you're playing games because they're frequently overloaded.
Now, whether or not that is the case here is hard to tell.
Do you have some sort of monitoring tool, like HwInfo32? Perhaps you could tell us your max temperature when playing games.
Do the shards, shapes and pixels stop flying around when you're not playing games? -
Hey i dont know what HwInfo32 is. Is it a physical hardware that I have to purchase or some sort of program I can download?
and the shards are only during game. once i exit the game, i get scattered pixel flickerings. if i put the laptop to sleep or restart it, the problem goes away but if i start playing, it will start up again. if i just use my laptop to browse the web or pretty much any activity other than playing games, its fine. its just when i play the games the problem starts -

Yes check your temps and have you tried reinstalling your graphics drivers?
Try running a disk check (chkdsk /f c, you may have some corrupted files or your windows profile may be corrupted itself.

Get hwmonitor to check your temps CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting
Download the latest drivers from http://support.asus.com/download/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
chkdsk /f c: at the command prompt will run a disk check after you reboot. You can also do it this way: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk) - Windows 7 -

What i think is that you have a defectibe VRAM ( explains artifatcs ). And the temps are fine, I get the same. Don't worry
