    Hi guys ,

    I purchased a couple a weeks ago a 17.3 inch ASUS N75 notebook .
Generally I am very pleased with it but I face a strange problem related to the network . I contacted ASUS support but they were not able to fix this problem after a few tries . Hope that someone here would be able to assist .

    The problem :
Over the Internet , my upload speed is about 20% from what it should be when I'm WIRED connected ( cable from my router to the RJ45 connector of the notebook) .
Over the Internet , when I'm connecting WIRELESS , the upload speeds are OK .
Over the Internet , the download speeds are OK on both situations - connected WIRED or WIRELESS .

Over the LAN , the problem is even bigger :
When I am connected WIRED , I get upload speeds of 5-10% from what I should get .
Using a WIRELESS connection over the LAN , I'm getting 50% of the upload speed that I should get .
The download speed over LAN is about 50% from what I was supposed to get on both connection - wired and wireless .

Till now I performed the following trying to fix this problem :
1.Reinstalled the most updated drivers advised by ASUS for the both wireless and LAN network adaptors . I did it once over the existing drives and once after I completely removed the existing drives .
None of these fixed the problem .

2.Performed all the above speed tests using a completely new network cable that I tried first on an other PC and found that I got full speeds with it . The results were the same .

3.Removed the ASUS N75 PC and replaced it with the 4 years old Sony Vaio AR-520E netbook and I got again the speeds that I always got till I bought this ASUS - full and proper upload and download speeds over the Internet and over my home LAN .

My router is an NETGEAR WIRELESS N router .
I suspect that the problem is somehow related to a setting/s of the network adapter but I don't know what setting can create a such problem , so I would like to ask you guys if you can please let me know what are you thoughts on this problem and how should I fix it .

Any help on it would be much appreciated .

    Thanks in advance !

OK guys . I am glad to inform you that I found a solution for it .
It was one of the setting of the LAN Network driver that caused this problem that has a very problematic default value .
Once I changed it , I got maximum upload speeds over the LAN and Internet , being connected through a WIRE to the router .

Now I'm checking what could be the problem of the 50% LAN speeds on a WIRELESS connection .
I assume that I'll have to check all the settings of the network adaptor , as I did with the WIRED connection .

    Hey there,

I have the same ASUS N75 notebook and I guess I'm facing a similar problem. I thought that my internet was just slower than expected, however after you mention about the driver issue I guess I might have the problem.

Can you explain how fixed your problem more detailed please?

    Thanks
