Hi,
I'm looking into buying a Notebook computer.
At the moment the two models I am looking at are the 'PRO31F-AP241E' and the 'PRO31JR-AP104E'
Both of these come with Windows Vista Business.
I want this laptop for School, study and General Use, but I want something that will run relatively fast.
Is there anything that should make me not buy one of these?
Thank you.

Ok, I'm just kidding. I just read another thread where folks are arguing the merits of Vista.
Asus machines almost always receive great reviews and lots of raves here at NBR. -
Haha!!
Yeah, I'm not too sure about Vista Business myself -

I have run in Vista Business and Vista ultimate. They are fine. In 99% of what you do, you can't honestly notice the difference if your computer is properly equipped (RAM, processor, GPU), and any computer you go out and by new (and a current model) should be properly equipped.

Double check the programs that you know you will use for school and make sure they are all Vista compatible. I have all the Adobe CS2 software, but because it can't run on vista, I chose XP rather than buying the new CS3 software that is vista compatible.

A lot of my heavier programs do not run under Vista, and I also get about 40% more battery time in XP on my V1s.

Check out Vista Battery Saver, it does all that. (disable gadgets and aero on battery automatically)
Probably the battery life in those conditions is similar to XP.
But that doesn't change the fact that Vista is a horrible resource hog, even after significant tweaking. It takes N times as much RAM, CPU, and HDD accesses to perform the same task as XP.
Myself, I won't switch until I absolutely have to...
