TK,
I recently sent an e-mail to that address, but didn't realize I was sending my message to you! Anyway, I really appreciated your prompt reply. Unfortunately, you weren't able to help me, but I do appreciate your time.
I do wish there were more retailers that carried Asus notebooks, because for me, it's really important to be able to look at the models in person and test them out a little bit before buying. Online vendors have restocking fees, which I can understand, but that doesn't help people like me.
Anyway, thanks for being here!

Hi TK,
I have a question re: the ASUS S5N notebook. On the ASUS website, it states that the max # of colors displayed by the graphics card is 252K. Is this correct? I think most other notebooks are capable of 16.1 million colors?
If it is 252K colors, what applications does this limit me to?
Thanks for your help,
Keiht -

Hi drtse,
It is a good question. Actually, I know that the notebook is not only got 256K color, u know, the 252K colors max is meaning for something else, but I have to check it out with Taiwan headquarter about that. Basically, there is not many applications are limited on this notebook, and I just want to make sure the S5N is integrated with shared 64MB VGA card, so it may not be able to do a professional graphic works. Thank you.

Hi TK,
I bought the M6N from www.etccomputer.ca and for some reason, it did not come with any extra software such as the two games. Was I suppose to not receive them?

Thank you for your email, but I do think that you should contact the ETC computers first and check about it with them first. Okay, thank you

Hey cool, I'm in Calgary. Might drop by ME (MemoryExpress) to say Hi, and show up for the Calgary IPD (Intel Product Dealer) show on Oct 14th.
As an assembler of your M6BNe, I can say that I'm very impressed with the laptop, but have a few minor ?'s.
Is there any way to reprogram the button software so that when I press the buttons, specifically the wireless button so that it opens up Windows XP SP2 wireless instead of trying to open up the Intel Proset utility? I greatly prefer the XP SP2 application.
Where can I get the rectangular Asus sticky logo's to attach to the laptop. I have plenty of square logos for desktops, but I don't do enough volume on laptops (yet) to think about making my own design.
Is Arctic Silver 5 better than the included thermal paste - I think its Shin Etsu? -

ZenOps,
Thank you for your email. Regarding to your email, it is an optional for you to choose you go to open the wireless on/off by either using Window XP SP2 or Intel Proset Utility. if you go to turn the function off, then it will be off for both, so I will recommend to keep the button on and there is not able to reprogram for the button SO.
Regarding to the ASUS badges, then I will recommend that you can go to check it out with your reseller who sold you the notebook first.

I was looking at buying an ASUS M6N system, built by NCIX, and I was wondering, since I live in the Vancouver area of BC, Canada, if there's any ASUS service depots in the area. I've been told that it may be difficult to obtain ASUS notebook parts if the notebook ever needs servicing. Also, if I buy from NCIX, will I be able to send the notebook to an ASUS service depot to get it repaired, or do I have to go to NCIX?
Thanks. -

Hi Syn,
Thank you for your message. Regarding to your message, actually if you need any service about our M6N system, then I will recommend that you should go to contact NCIX first and let them to troubleshoot for what kind of problem it has or what kind of service you need. Then they should be able to tell you what you need to go to do for the next step. So, it is good for you to go to contact NCIX first whenever you need the service. Thank you.

At last... I found someone that can help me
I have a Sony Ericsson Stereo Bluetooth Headset ( HBH-DS970 ) that works well with my SE mobile. It has a multipoint feature which denotes that I can pair it with 10 other devices.
I am trying to pair it with my Asus A8J but the device cannot be "discovered". I already contacted Asus and they confirmed that my A8J has a A2DP profile which should be able to pair with the headset. But I am having a hard time pairing the 2 devices.
Appreciate if you could shed some light on how should I do it -
Unfortunately, it's been a while since he/she has logged on(Sept 9th 2004) so you may be out of luck. However, you can post this as a new topic for help.
-
If you give us some details on what steps you've already taken to try to pair the devices, maybe the other forum users can help. I suggest starting a new thread for your particular issue.

Edit: Cori beat me to it -
lmao, i thought this was actually some new Asus Rep until i saw the last 2 posts. thats funny.
-
I thought it was some new ASUS competition. lol.
Having an active ASUS representative in this forum would have been nice. Cori, can't we get andrew to invite every major notebook manufacturers to send their reps in here? -

Actually, this guy was fired.... He's the genius that ordered all of the notebooks for the holiday season in 2005 w/ 4200rpm hard drives......
Please remove this sticky and close the thread... You're wasting your time if you think anyone at Asus can give this forum any more than others already have... trust me, even Tony realized after he posted that he couldn't put up with it and even if he could, he couldn't release any more information than we're allowed to. -
Was never a sticky
