I bought my laptop about a month ago. I had a Dell before so I'm new t ASUS. There's a little gadget on the desk top that's called Performance Monitor. Is this something that came with my laptop? I kinda ike it as it can scan for errors (which errors I don't know) and it will clean the ram. After looking more closely at it, it made by IObit.
Just wanting to know if it works good, if it's free and whether I really need it.
Thank you for your time.

No, you don't need it necessarily. It might seem convenient, and if it does what it should - and does it well - and you like the interface and functionality, then you're welcome to keep it.
I remember reading some questionable things about IObit a couple of years ago, but I also liked their defragmenting software at the time (just before discovering Auslogics). I don't recall Asus loading that on there from factory, but if you've had that program on there since you pulled it out of the box, then either they did install it from factory, or the reseller/retailer you purchased from did. That, or you or another end-user may have installed it, perhaps inadvertently when installing another piece of software, and that was included with it.
