    FTW - 'for the win'.
It's gaming lingo, I guess. It's pretty commonly used outside of gaming too nowadays.

hahaha, FTW = "For the win"

That's pretty awesome news. Do you expect to see it hitting port with Vista any earlier than Asus' other models? When is the W3J gonna get a darn BIOS that supports the OS!?

Yeah, I was thinking - F the world too.... but didn't see how that applied... "for the win" makes sense but let's just be clear... I could have looked it up online and pretended to know it all along - but I'm sorta glad I didn't because I can no claim I'm not the dorkiest or the dorks on the forum.. ;)

    But I gotcha.

For anyone that's interested in slogging through the Windows WHQL testing and certification documentation: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/whql/default.mspx

It basically means all components of a notebook should work well with the Windows OS installed and have no [messed] up drivers -- from what I can tell.

Hehe instead of talking about the new notebook, this thread seems to be talking about internet slang :D.

Something to complain about when something doesn't work:

"DARNIT! THAT STICKER SAYS ALL THE DRIVERS ARE COMPATIBLE! UGGGGH!"

Right, well it's big deal only because sales of systems across the board (from every company) have cut down due to possible issues like this...... Not say between individuals like people on this site, but businesses...... Seeing this certification on the R1f means increased commitments for large business orders NOW verses in February or later.... Especially since MOST places won't want to switch off of XP Pro for probably the first year.... they'll be able to get the free Vista upgrade and then just upgrade later down the road and know that everything will work.
