    Hello guys,

I actually wanted to buy a cheap netbook which can be transformed into a tablet and the ASUS Transformer Book T100TA looks pretty good.

But as I noticed from the reviews from a lot of people who bought the laptop, there seems to be some HW problems and especially is the faulty keyboard issue. They also reported problematic customer service.

My question: is that a general ASUS manufacturing failure? In case this device is faulty, is there such good and cheap alternatives?

    Thank you very much!

    Hi tweetatoo.
I saw your request for more information on the t100 and thought that I would direct you to a better place to ask your questions.

I'm not trying to advertise or anything but I want to recommend an alternate forum dedicated to Asus transformer models. I myself am a moderator over at Transformerforums.com where we have a thriving t100 section with many questions answered (I'm talking about thousands of posts!) So far almost all of our users have been more than satisfied with the quality and functionality of the machine and feel it is almost underpriced in the market.

I encourage you to become part of that community (there doesn't seem to be many t100 users here) and let me know what you think.

Buy what you feel comfortable with. If you're finding a lot of negative feedback on this particular model, you can look into something else from Asus (they're a trustworthy brand). Each model from ANY brand is home to its own perks, as well as its own problems. I would not call this a "general" failure as it's not occurring across different models.
