I currently have an X83vb which I bought from Best Buy a few years back. It's been great, but my mom needs a new computer and I've decided to upgrade.

One of the benefits of the N80 platform was easy access to components, for upgrades. I upgraded the stock 9300m gs to a 9600m gs and have been very satisfied.

While the components on the U43JC are nowhere near as easily accessed, it's doable, as shown by the post below.

Now for my question: the Nvidia 310m isn't the best graphics card out there, lower spec than my 9600m gs by most benchmarks.
Is the card a standard MXM-A or MXM-B for upgrade in the future? Will I be able to upgrade to any card, possibly disabling Optimus if necessary?

    Thanks!

The 310M in the U43 is integrated to the mainboard and cannot be changed out.
