alrighty.... seems like the 2 USB2.0 ports on my U36 have died. Anyone know how I can check if its a hardware or software issue? and any fixes to for me to try? the only thing i can think of that would have killed them is water damage, but that was 2 weeks ago and they worked fine until earlier in the week.

if ya'll need any more info, lemme know

Water damage can take time to cause an electrical failure, which is likely what may have transpired for you.

What exactly happened 2 weeks ago?

Do you have asus charger+ (plus) installed? If so, try uninstalling it and rebooting.

ill try the charger+ uninstall. would it help to disable it in the bios?

the water damage... spilled water all over my bed and some leaked over to the laptop - the laptop had some issues starting up until it dried, then worked perfectly again. the audio ports also had issues until it dried. could be shorting from water damage, which thank god asus accidental warranty covers.
