If you disabled it using selective startup or something - otherwise just reinstall atk.

You can check your task manager to see if it's running. If you're unsure how you disabled it or can't remember if you accidentally disabled/uninstalled it, the simpliest way is to just re-install the ATK utility as ALLurGroceries suggested.

I'm having a difficult time getting rid of some of these ASUS processes.

To cut to the chase, I want to get rid of 'ATKOSD2' and 'AsScrPro' as they are both starting, even though I've done my best to uninstall and disable them in msconfig.

I obviously want my Fn keys to work with at least basic behavior, and the motherboard remote driver:
    ATK Hotkey (ATKOSD)
    ATK0100

But I could care less about water ripples on my screen, screen saver protector, ATK Media, etc.:
    ATKOSD2
    DMedia
    AsScrPro

I tried to selectively install/uninstall parts of ATK Package, but that seems impossible. So I re-installed the damn thing, and attempted to disable what I don't want running... however ATKOSD2 is still being launched (probably by ATKOSD itself).

Also, I have no idea why AsScrPro is still launching. I uninstalled the ASUS screensaver and webcam crap, and have it unselected in msconfig startup options... but when I start my laptop, it is still running.

Short of renaming these executables, I am at a loss at solving this problem correctly. Any help?

OK, for future reference I got rid of the two processes (a hacky way). I didn't want to do what I did because I thought it might trigger some error prompts... but it turns out that wasn't the case.

I renamed this processes so that whatever is launching it, can't find it now:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ATK Package\ATKOSD2\ATKOSD2.exe

I also just deleted this executable outright:
    C:\Windows\AsScrPro.exe

I'm sure there is a clean way to uninstall just those pieces, but I wasn't able to figure it out. I'm also not that familiar with Windows7, and perhaps there is an alternative startup process list that I am not considering.
