    Hello NotebookReview forums. I'm here today to help out the ASUS hybrid users on these forum w/ a guide on how to install modded drivers for the GeForce G210M and other similar cards. (EDIT: The drivers and infs should work with all cards in the support list of the drivers website!}

    First off, I have successfully done this in both Windows 7 64bit which comes stock on the laptop, as well as on Windows XP Pro 32bit, SP3.

    -- Windows 7: When i did this on 7, I saw a slight increase of performance but my laptop monitor displayed faint vertical lines, especially on blue and white images. Also, i found that my card would no longer accept the stock ASUS provided drivers, mind you, these results occurred with an older set of drivers than the one in the guide. I would still not recommend doing this on 7.

    -- Windows XP 32bit: I personally installed xp to get better desktop performance out of the ASUS UL50VT, W/ a 1.3 Ghz Dual Core, 4 gigs of DDR3, and a GeForce G210M which, at maximum, supports direct x 10, I found that 7 was unnecessary and would recommend dropping 7 all together. With that said, I have also seen the best results w/ XP out of these modded drivers. I have full use of Power4Gear, (or something similar called Power Mizer) I also do not see the faint vertical lines as stated in the windows 7 section, and I can use Physx, adjust screen brightness, and still use HDMI. Although this is true, the xp install did take a little more work to get going and battery life is reduced quite a bit.

    ---------------------------------------GUIDE---------------------------------------------------------

    First off, This guide "Should" work with all ASUS UL models such as 50, 80, and 30 as well as the other cards in the support lists of the drivers website. I do not take any responsibility for damaged hardware.

    Windows XP 32bit:

    Step 1: Download the driver package here -- http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/27896-v26658-windows-xp-32bit-nvidia-desktop/ (NOTE: This package won't install on its own!!!)

    Step 2: Download the Modded .INF file here -- http://www.komeil.com/download/2925 (THIS IS A MUST!)

    Step 3: Run the installer package from earlier, it will un-zip into its own folder.

    Step 4: Move the modded INF file into the Display.Driver folder located in the 266.58 folder

    Step 5: Run the Setup.exe in the 266.58 folder, then restart.

    This should also work for XP 64 bit, although you have to use the older 25x driver 258.96. I haven't tested it yet but all you have to do is download the 64 bit driver hereand the 64 bit inf here. Also I would recommend making sure that you have downloaded all other XP drivers for your system from ASUS Support first. That way you get the Power Mitzer tool and updated intel chipset etc.

    Windows 7 x64:

    This install is easier because windows 7 installs some of your laptop drivers (such as networking cards) automatically, but is still not recommended.

    Step 1: Download the driver package here -- http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/29288-v29610-windows-7vista-64bit-nvidia-oem-mobile/

    Step 2: Download the Modded INF here -- http://www.komeil.com/download/2923

    Step 3: Run the installer package from earlier, it will un-zip into its own folder.

    Step 4: Move the modded INF file into the Display.Driver folder located in the 296.10 folder

    Step 5: Run the Setup.exe in the 296.10 folder, then restart.
