This thead is the driver bundle needed to install Nautis Nvidia 260.63/Intel 2022 Driver and get it running in its most stable form on the UL30/50/80. I originally posed this over on LaptopVideo2Go, and decided to bring the thread over here to share with you all.

Oh yes and just to add this is ONLY FOR UL30/50/80 that have hybrid graphics running both Intel & NVIDIA!!!!

I'm definitely not trying to steal Nautis Awesome work, just repackaging it for all my ASUS UL30/50/80 brothers/sisters out their.

    Whats included?
    • Install Instructions
    • VGA Patch
    • Nautis HGMS_N26063_I2020_x64
    • DriverSigning and dseo13b
    • Latest Power4Gear Hybrid: Z121
    Why Nvidia 260.63?

It's slightly older yes, but its arguably the most stable for the UL30/80/50. Pretty much everything seems to work very well! You should get a big performance boost if your moving from stock drivers to these. It is also newer: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/474538-modded-197-16-hybrid-graphics-driver-ul30-50-80vt.html

Install Instructions (Also Bundled in zip file):

    Code:
    System Prep:
        Step 1: Disable Automatic Updates
                1.) Start Button
2.) Type Windows Update In search bar
                3.) Click Change Settings
4.) Choose 3rd Option Down "Check for Updates but let me choose whether to download and install them"

        Step 2: Disable UAC
1.) Disable UAC [User Account Control] (Can usually be done by typing MSCONFIG in run and going to the Tools tab. You can re-enable it after installing the same way.)

Step 3: Remove All Nividia Driver & Power4GearHybrid

        Step 4: Reboot

    Now Time to Install:
Step 1: Extract the zip file to your desktop

Step 2: Run VGA_Patch(Removes Intel Drivers) from **Part1_VGA_Patch**
Click on the "silent" or "silent.bat" file to run the VGA Patch

Step 3: Install Nautis HGMS_N26063_I2020_x64 Driver from **Part2_HGMS_N26063_I2020_x64 Folder**
1.) Optional But reccomended to select Custom/Advanced Install
2.) And Check perform clean install (make sure all boxes are checked

        Step 4: Reboot
When you reboot youll most likely be stuck at 800x600 or 1024x768, I recommend to switch to the highest resolution available to make it easier to sign the drivers.

Step 5: Driver Signing & Test Mode for Unofficial 64bit Drivers
2.) Run the Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider and choose "enable test mode" from the **Part3_DriverSigning_and_TestMode** Folder
3.) Reboot. (You should see Test Mode at the bottom right corner after reboot.)
4.) Run the Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider again and choose "Sign a System File"
5.) In the box type "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\nvlddmkm.sys" and click ok (do not include the quotes.)
6.) Click "Sign a System File" again and this time put "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\igdkmd64.sys" (do not include the quotes.)
6.) Reboot and all should work.

Step 6: Install Power4Gear Hybrid from the **Part4_Power4Gear_Hybrid_WIN7_64_Z121** folder

Step 7: Enjoy awesome performance for your UL30/50/80

Black screen should only last for about 5-10 seconds max on bootup, did you follow the instructions exactly when uninstalling everything?

I'd say reboot into safe mode to remove the drivers. And try following the guide again.

I did everything step by step, but something doesn't want to work correctly on my system :(

p.s. I back to native Intel drivers. Will try again if anyone write about success.

    Hey,
I'm new here but I have followed the developments on this hybrid- and also on the modified Optimus drivers with big interest.

I'm using an Asus UL30VT with Win 7 64-Bit. The system is almost 10 months old if you care ;-)

    Today I tried NDMr's Bundle.

The installation worked quite well. But I've had an issue on step 3 (Nautis driver...)
Had to install it in safe mode.
The other steps worked without any problems.

After everything was complete I realized that my sound was off. It seemed that the Nvidia driver had "deleted" the normal Realtek sound device driver. I reinstalled the Realtek device and sound worked again. But its the only sound device which I can use. Don't know why...

Another problem is the graphics switch. I have no idea if it has any effect on the current graphics card. Default seems to be the discrete card (Nvidia G210M). I can only switch to the integrated Intel if I deactivate the Nvidia in the device manager...

Also I have not experienced great performance boosts in my games (Diablo3, Starcraft2, World of Tanks). But the system is stable... :)

    Any suggestions?

Well the next step is to try to get newer drivers working, some people report 300.00's partially working, but it sounds like they wont switch out of discrete mode.

Also for those of you upgrading to windows 8 with hybrid graphics. You will see that even though the drivers install fine, at boot they will be disabled. Because even after you install unsigned graphics after disabling the need to sign drivers, after a reboot they still need to be signed. To get around this you need to enable test mode PERMANENTLY. So heres how to do it:

To enable testmode (allowing permanent unsigned drivers you need to run command prompt as administrator: How to open command prompt in Windows 8 )

    Force Test Mode:

    Code:
To Turn it on in command prompt run:
    bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
    bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON

To turn it off again, use these commands:
    bcdedit -set loadoptions ENABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
    bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF

    https://laslow.net/2012/03/14/disable-driver-signature-enforcement-in-windows-8/

Drivers still work just perfectly! :D

I finally got it working, even though I´m not sure exactly why. But the graphics seems to lag and display places with errors :( , so at least for now I´m back running Windows 7.
Have anyone had the same experience, and perhaps a solution?

    Hi,

    thanks for the great work!:hi2:
I updated my Asus ULV 80VT. Most is O.K.

Question: - When working in Intel Mode I have now only half of akku run-time.
    Have you similar experiences ?
    - Now it seems to be important to always work in Windows7 Testmodus.

    Thanks for answers.

Yes. I just loaded these drivers on win 7. Thanks for the efforts. Anyone have CUDA working? GPUz reports that its inactive when I switch to discrete graphics.

Check out my notes at the bottom of this post :)

ASUS UL30/UL80/UL50 260.63 Driver Bundle compiled by NDMr - Nautis1100 Hybrid and Optimus Drivers - LaptopVideo2Go Forums

also see this reply here too for windows 8 instructions:

    http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/to...3-driver-bundle-compiled-by-ndmr/#entry144188

I unfortunatly don't have a ul50 anymore, so I won't be too useful with specifics, but take a look at that and see if it helps!

P.S. I hated how finicky the ul50 was with drivers and setup, was a complete pain in the to get something newer running. Ended up buying an asus k55n which was a nice step up without a huge increase in price.

also for anyone looking to try to get newer drivers looks like somone here on a russian asus forum has reported getting nvidia 320 drivers working:

If you have not switched the video card (problems with NVIDIA ® Optimus ™) »Video» Troubleshooting »ASUS Forum

something else they say is that the bios were updated from originally allowing you to manually switch between intel and nvidia via bios, and that option was removed in later bios. That thread has alot of fantastic info in it from our pals in russia, its a little difficult to read, but google translate does a decent job. best of luck, and if somone else gets newer drivers working be sure to try to post a guide on how you did it!
