    Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a thin and light laptop that has the longest possible battery life. I have narrowed my search down to these two laptops: the ASUS UL30A-A2 and the ASUS UL30Vt-A1.

I'm not completelytech-tarded so I do have a grasp of the differences in hardware between these two machines. What I can't seem to find out through searching Google is what impact the switchable graphics in the Vt have on battery life. I'd assume when not in use, there will be little to no extra energy drain; however, I'm not totally certain of this.

Finally, what if I were to get an ASUS UL30Vt-X1 and equip it with a 5600mAh battery (such as the one being used in the Vt-A1) - will this bring battery life of the X1 up to the same level as the Vt-A1 and A-A2?

    Thanks :p

first of all if you dont need a graphic card then its better to go with ASUS UL30A-A2 since you can save few bucks.
between ASUS UL30A-A2 and the ASUS UL30Vt-A1, i would go for ul30vt model since casual gaming with discrete card is possible.
both the models mentioned here close to 10hours battery life with same capacity 5600mah running on intel GPU.

finally,i think its possible to bring battery life if X1 close to A since the main diff between X1 and A is battery capacity-X1 being 4400mah and wireless chip.oh i almost forgot even the warranty for them also differs.

The warranty is not a huge issue. A year is enough. What about putting a 5600mAh battery (like the one in the UL30VT-A1) into the UL30VT-X1. Would this be possible?
