I like N61 not only is it built well for a Multimedia machine but it has a quad core as well. Exciting

Ohhhhhhh I can't wait. I have been holding out for this UL80/U80 and hopefully the price is in my budget.
Edit: I prefer the Sony ripoff hinge of the U80/U81. Oh well. -
man I want a black ul80 soo bad, but I wanna see how the performance/battery life mixture with the G210m work, I'm really hoping it ends up being a light yet powerful-enough machine (i.e. will play most games at reasonable speeds without eyecandy) yet be portable and light (and last 4 hours gaming use, 6+ hours surfing realistically)... Think I'll wait this out till Windows 7 release when a whole mountain of new laptops get released.
-
With switchable GFX and the CULV CPUs 6+ hours will be no problem. The Asus U80/U81 real world got 4-5hrs with less power saving hardware.
-
SO excited for the UL80. I'm hoping Asus makes it a decent size/weight unlike their other 14" models. An Nvidia 210M is pretty damn good for something so small.
Any news on release date? -

It seems kind of a waste that the UL80 is coming with such a weak processor if it is indeed getting a 210M.

Actually the SU7300 is pretty good.
According to a benchmark i was reading an overclocked SU7300( to 1.7 GHZ)
was almost as fast as a P8400! This is more then adequate -

Please share the link. I would think that slow clockspeed would hurt it, but if you say so.

300 points is fairly significant in PCMark, right?

Is it? I don't think so.......Maybe you are right though?

Also, this results were from UL50V t which has OC ability out of the box in Power4Gear. I haven't seen t series in a wild. Non t does not have OC profile (at least not UL30A tested at those forums and main page recently) so unless there is other working way like RMClock, You stay with 1,3GHz

Apparently there is a T version of the recently reviewed UL30. So the point would still stand
-
Only place I found it was Anandtech (Asus doesn't mention it in any press materials) but it's better than nowhere.
Another question that comes up is how about availability of this version in regions. -

There is actually an Asus sales person/customer service guy on this site now(You have probably seen him around) You may want to ask him.
-
Good idea. Do You remember his nick?
