    Hi guys,

I hope you can help me where the customer service has failed impressively.

So I bought the UX305CA specifically because I wanted a laptop that does not make any noise (fan, HDD), as I like to work in rather quiet environments for hours, and such noises can be super disturbing.

I run a dual boot on it, Windows 10 stock on the one hand, and my go-to OS Ubuntu 16.10.
(I will post a review of the laptop with Ubuntu as main OS later).

Lately, I have noticed a rattling noise coming from the right side of the keyboard. It seems to increase under load, as though it was writing to/reading from an HDD. However, given it has an SDD installed and no fan, I fail to understand where ANY sound, but this one in particular, could be coming from...

Does anyone here have similar issue? Or can anyone think of anything that might cause this noise?
I do like this notebook, and the sound is not too loud - but having to listen to music in order to not hear it defeats the purpose of having a super silent notebook.

    Thanks for your help!

    Cheers,
    Chimp

Does it sound like a static noise?

Hi Zoltan - thank you for your quick reply!

It does not sound like the static that we got from old TVs. Again, it is as close to the sound of something being written to an HDD as it could get.

Any idea what it could be? Should I send it back, or this all natural?
When I bought it, I had hoped it to be as silent as a smartphone or tablet. And given its built, I don t see why I shouldn t be that way...

Have you opened the system at all to see if anything looks loose, or tried cleaning it out?
