Hi all I had a quick question. Is it worth upgrading the RAM on my ASUS UX32VD Zenbook?
It is currently 6GB RAM, and I would want to upgrade it to 10GB RAM but it would cost about $80-$100 believe, unless some body knows where I can get cheaper.
And if I were to buy one, what model RAM would I get that would best work and be compatible for my UX32VD? I just want to make sure I get the most optimal RAM stick if I do get one.
If you guys know please show me some links to the one I should I should got for my laptop please.
I already upgraded to an SSD, but I was wondering if RAM would be a good idea? I do multi-task a lot of tabs open.

Without knowing your usage it's hard to say. Are you running out now? If so then yes getting more will help. If you are not then there is no need just now.
Any known brand with the same voltage/speed/latency will do the trick (use cpu-z if you are unsure on what you have installed). -

I also noticed I am using BIOS213, and there's a BIOS214 for my laptop, should I upgrade that as well?

1. You cannot upgrade to 10 GB. It sounds like you have 4 GB + 2 GB (two modules). You can upgrade to 8 GB, though, by replacing the 2 GB module with another 4 GB module. As far as which memory, match the 4 GB stick that is currently in the laptop (mixing brands can sometimes cause instability).
2. You can check your RAM utilization in the Windows Task Manager, under the Performance tab. Use the computer as you normally do, and then refer to that to see what your memory usage is like.
3. Unless you have a specific need that the new BIOS version addresses, you do not need to upgrade the BIOS. Updating it is not like updating a Windows program; if something goes wrong, your laptop becomes little more than a paperweight. -
My computer has a built in 2GB RAM, and has 1 slot, so I can upgrade with 1 x 8GB stick making it a total of 10GB RAM so it's possible.
I am currently using about 70% of my RAM on Windows Task Manager, do you think an upgrade should be done?
And for BIOS I will not bother with it then, in case of anything. -

Additionally, more RAM can help if you have a lot of windows open for work/research.
BIOS update is always recommended unless if you are afraid then have someone to do it for you instead. -
Also I might consider changing the WiFi card on this laptop, but not sure if anyone has had any experience with that. -
I'm also a bit confused which RAM do I purchase, there seems to be a DDR3 1600 MHz, and I see a DDR3 1333, which one is better or does my laptop take a specific one?
I'm comparing between a Corsair and a G.SKILL RAM.
I also notice there is a 1.5V or 1.35V, choice I wasn't sue with which one to get.

Would this work?
Corsair Vengeance 8 GB So DIMM 1600 MHz DDR3 Memory 843591016681 | eBay
I've been reading so much about how there's a CAS latency of like 10 or 11 and the 1.35V vs 1.5V. Just wanted to confirm I'm getting the right product. -

Actually, although Kevin is right about 1333 being slower than 1600, it looks like your current memory is already rated at 1333. If you purchase and install a module rated for "1600 MHz", it's going to run at "1333 MHz" to match the RAM already installed.
Your best bet is to match what you currently have as close as you can, so you should look for:
1.5v
DDR3 1333 (1600 will work, but it will operate at 1333)
CL 9-9-9-24
Try to get as close to that as you can. If you can match the brand that's installed, that's even better, but not entirely necessary. Note that I'm basing this off of your screen shot, so be sure that info is correct before you take these suggestions and run with them. -
I'm having trouble checking to see if the RAM is CL 9-9-9-24 or not. If isn't does that matter, I have trouble understanding what these things mean for RAM. -

One small thing is ram slowing itself down usually has looser timings by 1 than ram designed stock for that speed.

Can anyone post me links or is the one I posted with the Corsair Vengeance fine? -

Anyone know and can I verify with?

That ram should be ok. Any 1.5v or 1.35v 1600mhz should be fine.

The specs check out, so yes, that should work.

Kingston Technology 8GB 1600MHz DDR3L (PC3-12800) 1.35V Non-ECC CL11 SODIMM Intel Laptop Memory KVR16LS11/8 at Amazon.com
I just found it for $50. It's a CL11 not sure if that's ok. I heard the soldered RAM into the UX32VD is CL11 already though not CL9 -

It will be cl11 yes so that will work.
