I have owned and own a number of IBM laptops. In fact, my closet looks like an IBM laptop museum.![]()
I am very impressed with what have I learned about ASUS laptops via this and other forums and from various reviews. I will likely purchase one, maybe two within the next several months. I have a question about ASUS update utility.
IBM includes a nifty utility (called Software Installer) that will update bios, drivers and programs specific to your laptop. The Software Installer is completely auto magic and helps to insure all the programs and firmware is up to date. I know that ASUS includes an update utility, but is it limited to only updating the bios?
Thanks

There is a program called ASUS Live update which automatically updates BIOS, Applications and Drivers, but so far I haven't gotten it to work. But then again, I don't need anything right now, everything is up to date.

Yeah .. I am getting an asus z70va from geared2play soon. I seen in some post that you can update in asus website but I don't know exactly where it is the update, anyone know? "Asus Live updade" would be even better. What about the hardwares? How do you to instal them?

Cori, does it not run, or just doesn't seem to do anything? My 4 month old W3V runs Asus Live Update every Sunday, but I don't think there's been any drivers released since I got it (did I hear something about a new Audio driver?). Anyway, sometimes it has problems connecting back to Taiwan, but for the most part, it seems to at least run...

I have had Live Update for only a week, and no new updates have been released, so I can't vouch for its usefulness. However, you can also just go to http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us , enter your model #, and it will give you every update.

It runs but it can not connected to ASUS's site to look for the drivers. So I manually went through ASUS's site(which was pretty easy)
