Both of these machines not only look good :), but iam thinking of making one of them my next purchase over the Vaio FE (lower GPU)... The V1J doesn't seem to list bluetooth... which i would really liek to have but seems to have the better screen from the little i was able to see in the pictures specs. The F3J does have bluetooth and the same GPU, camera, but seems to have a screen that is not as good... Anyone have any additional information so i can choose between the two.. What kind of cards will they read... how many USB ports? Do both offer bluetooth and not list them? How much do they weigh?? When will they be available... Basically the whole 9 yards!!!

    THANKS!!!... :D

The V1j will have everything the V6j has.... and more..... the only problem is that it'll be the end of summer before it gets to the states. The V1j will deffinately have 256mb x1600 - the F3j will have 128mb x1600... (should also be the Z96j as a custom).

USB ports should hardly be a selling point, but every system Asus has put out in the last couple years have had at least 3 - which most having 4 - and some having 6.... but anyone with more than one usb device to plug in should use a hub anyway... that was they only have to plug one thing in when they get home lets say....

The F3j is going to be about 6.75 pounds... the V1j, will probably be 6 pounds flat.. which is beats the current Z70va's weight.... and since it's taking the W1's place in the lineup - for a lot of reasons - it's much lighter than that.

The Z96j is going to be here some time in mid April.

For those who can't seem to read the pictures....... the V1j is going to have a fringer print scanner with a TPM (trusted platform module) 1.2 which is an embedded module for encrypting files.... along with support for a *docking* solution.

Sounds like the z96j will be the way to go seeing as the v1J won't be in the states till late summer. The Z96J however hopefully won't be that heavy... Iam sure they will read the Memory Stick Pro, and Secure Digital... those interest me the most. Will the Bluetooth be 2.0? Is the headphone jack located on the front of the notebook? (hoping it isn't) How do the screens Asus uses or particularly the screen on the Z96J compare with the FE xbrite high color screen?

All of the systems have card readers and they'll all read both of those medias....... all future bluetooth models are 2.0.

... the Z96j isn't out yet.... demos' aren't out...... continuing talk about this right now would be a waste of time... seriouslly ..... you're going to have to hold out a few more weeks.

If you feel you are wasting your time simply don't reply and save yourself the trouble...

So can anyone else say anything about the quality of the screens used by ASUS? I have never owned one... the general consensus seems to be that their customer service is quite good...!!! Iam sure there are a few not so great instances... anybody had any trouble with them? ;)

Frankly, there are certain things that if I don't reply to, almost no one else will be able to...... so instead of leaving you out in the cold, I told you what the deal was.

If you want to ask a screen question, first, search the forum because they're talked about all the time....... but don't ask them in here because it's off topic enough that people who can comment on the screens may not be looking in this thread.

... but your screen question needs to be prefaced by what models you're looking at...... if you're considering the Z96j and V1j..... they were physically announced this week..... and although their screens will be similiar to other models, no one can tell you one way or another what they'll have right now and be giving you fact. With that said, Asus has many different screens, in many different parts of the world..... and a wide array of notebooks from mid to high end.. and they all have differenet screens. Narrow the search and a lot of people can help you.

Elitist? You realize I'm the only one who even cared to respond to your thread... at all? If it weren't for me it'd be sitting here for almost 24 hours with no response at all.... and would fall down through list of posts and dissappear.... I really don't care how you feel... for some reason I try to help everyone even if helping means to explain to them their questions are unreasonable....

Guys, mind if you stop this nonsense, it isn't really going anywhere.

    This thread is dead.
